In the summer of 1998, a group of dedicated American boys set out on a mission to make a difference. With a passion for their heritage and a deep commitment to helping others, they traveled to Ukraine to establish a Jewish camp that would offer a top-quality experience for children in need. Many of these children came from broken homes and destitute families, lacking the resources and support that many take for granted.

Under the auspices of Rabbi Shmuel Kaminetsky and the Dnipro Jewish community, the camp was created as a safe haven where these kids could find joy, stability, and a connection to their Jewish roots.

What began as a summer camp has since blossomed into something much greater. Over the years, Camp Yeka has grown and expanded, offering not just summer camp, but also winter and Passover camps, as well as year-round programs. These initiatives provide continuous support and opportunities for hundreds of children and families every year, making a lasting impact on the Jewish community in Ukraine.

Camp Yeka remains committed to its founding principles of care, compassion, and excellence. Our programs are designed to nurture the body, mind, and spirit of every child, fostering a strong sense of Jewish identity and belonging.

As we continue to grow and innovate, we stay true to our original mission: to provide a space where children can thrive, learn, and feel the warmth of community, no matter their background or circumstances.

Today, Camp Yeka stands as a testament to the power of vision, dedication, and love. We are proud to continue the work that began in 1998, and we look forward to many more years of inspiring and uplifting the lives of Jewish children and families across Ukraine.
